Ian Lurie

Associate Attorney

Ian Lurie is a corporate associate in the Dallas office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and a member of the Firm’s Investment Funds Practice Group.

Ian specializes in counseling sponsors on the formation, marketing, management and operation of private investment funds across a range of investment strategies, including real estate, private equity, co-investment, debt and infrastructure funds, and advises on a variety of related corporate matters, including legal and regulatory issues and corporate governance. He also represents investors and managers in secondary transactions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and investments in sponsor platforms and investment funds.

Ian’s relevant experience includes advising:

  • Corebridge Real Estate Investors (formerly AIG Global Real Estate) on its real estate funds and co-investment and sidecar vehicles
  • The Related Companies on the formation of its affordable housing fund and related co-investment strategies
  • Dextra Partners on the launch of its flagship co-investment fund and the establishment of funds-of-one with strategic investors
  • EOS Investors on the structuring and establishment of multiple real estate funds and portfolio company co-investments
  • Merit Energy on its oil and gas funds, including the closing of its latest flagship fund, Merit Energy Partners L
  • Rockpoint Group on its strategic joint ventures with real estate managers and operators

Ian maintains an active pro bono practice, including assisting with the formation of a number of non-profit organizations. He is an active member of the Cardozo Society of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas and received the Top Attorneys Under 40 award in 2019.

Ian graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2016 and received his B.A. summa cum laude in history in 2012 from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Texas.
