Miles Lynn is an associate in Gibson Dunn’s Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Innovation Practice Group*. He advises clients across various sectors on their most complex regulatory, policy, and compliance matters relating to artificial intelligence, privacy, and cybersecurity. His practice covers laws globally, with a particular focus on European laws.
Miles’ practice includes defending clients in high-stakes investigations and regulatory enforcement actions, advising on the compliant design of innovative products and services, and drafting and negotiating privacy terms and documentation. He also advises clients on information governance, consumer trust and safety, transaction diligence, cyber incident response, and crisis management.
In addition to his background in law, Miles has experience working as a software engineer and data analyst for major technology companies, including Google. He has also developed his own AI startup, giving him a rare practical understanding of the intricate relationship between product development and regulation.
Miles received his law degree (LL.B.) from the London School of Economics (LSE), where he graduated with a first-class honors degree. Sponsored by Covington & Burling, he later completed his LPC with distinction. Most recently, he attended Imperial College London to further his education in computer science.

- Advised a major AI company, founded by industry veterans, on several novel GDPR and AI Act-related matters.
- Advised a major consumer robotics company on a variety of privacy and cybersecurity-related matters.
- Conducted detailed privacy diligence on various transactions for both multinational public companies and smaller private companies in a multitude of different industries.
- Advised a data governance company on a matter relating to AI governance, which involved the preparation of detailed AI risk assessments.
- Prepared privacy-related documentation (e.g., DPIAs, privacy policies, data handling policies, ROPAs, TIAs, etc.) for many clients.
