Julia Doody is an associate in the Denver office of Gibson Dunn. She currently practices with the firm’s Litigation Department.
Julia earned her law degree in 2022 from Stanford Law School, where she served as an articles editor for the Stanford Law and Policy Review. Julia graduated from Stanford University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in human biology and as a recipient of the J.E. Wallace Sterling Award for Scholastic Achievement and the Joshua Lederberg Award for Excellence in Human Biology.
Before joining Gibson Dunn, Julia clerked for the Honorable R. Brooke Jackson of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the Honorable Veronica S. Rossman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Courtney Spears is an associate in the Orange County office of Gibson Dunn. She currently practices in the firm’s Litigation Department. Courtney represents clients in a wide range of high-stakes, complex commercial cases, with an emphasis in antitrust and competition and technology and intellectual property matters. She has extensive trial experience, having been a core member of four trial teams in the past two years.
Courtney’s representative matters include:
- Representation of Rimini Street, a leading software support services provider, in copyright, false advertising, and unfair competition litigation against Oracle in the District of Nevada. Represented Rimini Street in two trials in connection with this matter, which is ongoing.
- Representation of Merck & Co., Inc. at trial in In re Zetia (Ezetimibe) Antitrust Litigation (E.D. Va.), where plaintiffs alleged an unlawful agreement and conspiracy to delay generic competition. A settlement of the multidistrict litigation was reached during trial, and litigation concerning the opt-out plaintiffs is ongoing.
- Representation of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. against claims of copyright infringement, tortious interference, and unfair competition brought by Oracle in a lawsuit relating to a subcontractor’s handling of components of an Oracle Operating System. After a three-week jury trial, the parties settled on confidential terms.
- Representation of Big Fish Entertainment and REELZ against copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and unfair competition claims brought by A&E in connection with On Patrol: Live. A confidential settlement was reached after the close of discovery.
- Representation of Energizer Holdings, Inc. in three related antitrust class action lawsuits alleging a price-fixing conspiracy with respect to the wholesale and retail sale of disposable batteries in the United States. The cases are currently in discovery with a trial scheduled for 2028.
- Representation of Amgen Inc. in an antitrust action filed by a competitor alleging monopolization of the market for certain cholesterol reducing medications through the use of bundled discounts. This matter is ongoing, and trial is scheduled for May 2025.
- Representation of HP Inc. in an antitrust class action alleging that HP monopolized the market for replacement ink through the use of firmware updates. This matter is currently in discovery.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Courtney served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ronald
S.W. Lew of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Courtney earned her Juris Doctor in 2019 from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. While in law school, Courtney served as a Senior Copy Editor for the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal. Michael J. Perry is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson Dunn and a member of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Practice Group.
Michael represents clients in merger and non-merger related investigations before the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice, and complex private and government antitrust litigation. His practice spans a variety of industries, including healthcare and life sciences, energy, and technology, and he is experienced in issues at the intersection of antitrust and intellectual property law. Michael has been named a leading antitrust practitioner by Chambers USA, The Legal 500, Global Competition Review, Law360, Lawdragon, and Who’s Who Legal, described by Chambers as a “terrific lawyer who can translate complicated items into laymen’s terms.”
Michael previously served as Counsel to the Director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition from 2015 to 2016 and as an attorney in the agency’s healthcare division. During his tenure at the FTC, Michael played an integral role in many of the agency’s most significant antitrust enforcement actions, including FTC v. Actavis FTC v. Cephalon, FTC v. Sysco, and FTC v. St. Luke’s Health System.
Michael currently serves in the leadership of the Antitrust section of the American Bar Association as Senior Editor of the Antitrust Law Journal. Before joining Gibson Dunn, Michael was an antitrust partner at an international law firm. He clerked for the Honorable Allyne R. While in law school, she served as a judicial intern for the Honorable William Bertelsman in the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Anika Gidwani is an associate in the San Francisco office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she currently practices in the firm’s Corporate Department.

Julia Sweitzer is an associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she currently practices in the firm’s Finance Practice Group. Julia’s practice includes representing direct lenders, institutional lenders, corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies in a variety of financing transactions, including leveraged-acquisition financings, first and second lien financings, asset-based financings, cross-border deals, and other secured and unsecured commercial financings.
Julia received her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 2021. In law school, Julia worked as a student attorney at the Georgetown Social Enterprise and Nonprofit Law Clinic, served as executive editor of the Georgetown Environmental Law Review and was an elected member of the Student Bar Association. Prior to law school, Julia worked as a City Hall Fellow at the City and County of San Francisco and as an Avodah Corp Member at the Southern Poverty Law Center in New Orleans. Julia gradated summa cum laude from the University of California, Davis where she double majored in Human Development and Psychology.

Dylan Gunaratne is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where his practice focuses on assisting corporate teams with conducting due diligence in M&A transactions and assisting litigation teams in defending corporate clients on labor and employment matters.
Dylan earned his J.D. from the accelerated SCALE program at Southwestern Law School, where he distinguished himself as the Student Commencement Speaker at the 2023 graduation, received recognition as a Law Student of the Year from The National Jurist, and was awarded the Butterworth Prize for earning the highest GPA at the end of his first year. He also served as a Judicial Extern for The Honorable Joseph A. Brandolino of the Los Angeles Superior Court and The Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and was a Summer Associate in Gibson Dunn’s Los Angeles office.
Throughout law school, Dylan was involved in student leadership, including serving as an ABA Representative for the Student Bar Association, an editor of the Southwestern Law Review, and President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) chapter. He was also part of the Entertainment and the Arts Legal Clinic and worked as a teaching assistant for several professors.
Before law school, Dylan gained valuable experience at Sony Pictures Entertainment, working in both franchise marketing for television and branded integration for film, where he primarily assisted with executing product placement deals for major film titles, including Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Venom, among others. At Sony, he also served as Communications Chair for the OUT@SPE employee business resource group. Later, as a Licensing Coordinator at Nelvana Enterprises, a Corus Entertainment company, he assisted with the execution of merchandise licensing deals and launched the company’s OUT at Corus LGBTQ+ employee resource group where he served as the National Co-Chair.
Dylan maintains an active pro bono practice, assisting teams with advising nonprofit clients on corporate matters and supporting LGBTQ+ communities and families through litigation matters.
In addition to his legal practice, Dylan has spoken at TEDx, where he shared his insights as a Crisis Line Counselor for a national suicide prevention lifeline, further showcasing his commitment to raising awareness around mental health issues.
Chelsea D’Olivo is an associate in the Washington D.C. office of Gibson Dunn. Her practice focuses on white collar defense, investigations, and corporate compliance.
Chelsea represents clients in internal and government investigations related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), False Claims Act (FCA), accounting and securities fraud, and antitrust laws. She has successfully defended U.S. and global companies in criminal and civil investigations conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Chelsea also advises clients regarding corporate compliance. She has counseled corporations on the design and implementation of their compliance programs, managed targeted risk assessments, and conducted transactional due diligence with an emphasis on anti-corruption laws.
Chelsea has represented companies and individuals across a variety of industries, including those in the pharmaceutical, medical device, health care, consumer products, telecommunications, and financial services industries, among others. Matthew Guice Aiken is of counsel in Gibson Dunn’s Washington, D.C. office. He practices in the firm’s Litigation Department and is a member of its Litigation, Class Action, and Labor & Employment Practice Groups. Prior to re-joining Gibson Dunn, Matthew served as an Associate Counsel and Senior Associate Counsel in the White House Counsel’s Office where he focused on judicial nominations.
After law school, Matthew served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gregg Costa, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Honorable Carol Jackson, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Prior to law school, she worked as a political fundraising consultant in San Francisco. Lorena Toussaint is an associate in the New York office of Gibson Dunn. Her practice focuses on sensitive, high-stakes litigations and investigations related to consumer protection, media and entertainment, and corporate and white collar crime.
Lorena has represented multinational companies in government and internal investigations involving allegations of fraud, bribery, corruption, and theft of trade secrets, as well as various allegations under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, Consumer Product Safety Act, and other state and federal consumer protection statutes. She also has experience defending media and entertainment companies and individuals in fast-paced legal proceedings and pre-litigation resolutions. Katy Sharp is a senior associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson Dunn, where she practices in the firm’s Litigation Department. She is a member of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations and False Claims Act / Qui Tam Defense practice groups. She has represented clients in the technology, energy, healthcare, retail, banking, education, construction management, and telecommunications sectors in both litigation and investigation matters.
Katy’s practice focuses on leading teams in high-stakes litigation and investigations. Clients rely on her to effectively and efficiently navigate them through large-scale civil discovery. Katy leads discovery at all stages, including managing document collection and production, drafting and responding to discovery requests, engaging in related meet-and-confers and motion practice, preparing lay and expert witnesses, and taking and defending depositions.
Katy represents clients in both federal and state courts and has experience at all stages of litigation, including senior case management, pre-trial dispositive motions, motions in limine, lay witness preparation, and working with experts.
Additionally, Katy represents both individuals and companies in criminal matters and investigations by federal and state government entities such as the Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Securities and Exchange Commission, and various state Attorneys General and state regulatory agencies.
Katy’s representative matters include:
- Representing a major oil production company in a case spanning more than seven years that resulted in a four-week jury trial in state court in a matter involving tort claims and highly complex and technical facts. Katy led the discovery team in an effort that lasted over three years and included over 1,500 written discovery requests, production of over 800,000 pages of documents, subpoenas to 40 third parties, and depositions of 68 lay witnesses and ten expert witnesses. She was a key member of the trial team, including leading and developing trial logistics throughout the in-person state trial held during the global pandemic.
- After taking over a case from another law firm, representing a construction management company in a successful motion for summary judgment in what was at the time the longest-running state False Claims Act suit in California history and successfully defending motion before Court of Appeal.
- Multiple investigations representing clients in the technology sector, including a recent representation of a large technology company in which Katy, a core member of the team, succeeded in the Federal Trade Commission declining to take further action against the company.
Katy takes great pride in her pro bono work, which has included successfully negotiating a settlement and obtaining cancellation of a quitclaim deed in a financial elder abuse case, obtaining Special Immigrant Juvenile Status for a child from El Salvador, and prevailing on a motion to have a plaintiff who filed frivolous lawsuits declared a vexatious litigant in a trial court action in which the plaintiff sued Gibson Dunn’s clients for libel after a newspaper published articles exposing the plaintiff’s scams.
Katy earned her law degree from the University of Southern California, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as a copy editor on the Southern California Law Review. While at the University of Southern California, Katy was a writing fellow in the Legal Writing and Advocacy Program and externed in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office. She was also a member of the school’s Supreme Court Litigation Clinic and served on the board of Virginia Law Women. Danilo Risteski is an associate in the Denver office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where he currently practices in the firm’s Litigation Department.
Danilo earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado in 2024, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. Jake earned his law degree from the UCLA School of Law in 2024. While in law school, Jake served as a judicial extern for the Honorable John A. Kronstadt of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He also participated in the Moot Court Honors Program and served as a Writing Advisor to first year law students.
Prior to law school, Jake earned a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in International Relations and the Global Economy and Spanish from the University of Southern California. Upon graduation, he was recognized as the USC Class of 2021 Salutatorian, elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and awarded the Order of the Laurel and the Palm, the highest honor bestowed upon USC undergraduates.
Jake is admitted to practice law in the State of California.
Jihao Chen is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson Dunn. He currently practices in the firm’s Litigation Department.
Jihao earned his law degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where he served as a Senior Editor of the Southern California Law Review. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UCLA.
