That’s how London trainee Samaya Prakke describes the culture at Gibson Dunn to Legal Cheek Careers, speaking about her training contract so far.

Samaya is now part of our corporate team, having recently returned from a six-month secondment with the firm’s projects team in Abu Dhabi after starting out in real estate finance in London. Along the way she has managed condition precedent calls, marked up opinions, sat with clients in the region, and worked alongside colleagues across our offices on transactions spanning years and jurisdictions.

What she highlights most, though, isn’t the work — it’s the people. Supervisors who ask for her view rather than just her output. A team that will sit down and explain the bigger picture, however basic the question. And a small, close trainee cohort that makes London feel a lot less daunting.
