In an interview with Newsweek, partner Matt Axelrod described the announcement of a rare-earth minerals trade deal between the U.S. and China as positive news for U.S. industry, but raised concerns about how the agreement was reached. “The fact that the U.S. government used export controls — which are key to U.S. national security interests — to strike this deal sets a concerning precedent,” he told the publication.
