Global Investigations Review

Partner Matt Axelrod recently spoke with Global Investigations Review (subscription required) about the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security’s recent guidance that banks may be held accountable for financing restricted exports in violation of U.S. export controls. Matt is the former head of export enforcement at BIS and current co-chair of Gibson Dunn’s Sanctions and Export Enforcement practice group.

“This administration has indicated that it interprets General Prohibition 10 and how it applies to financial institutions the same way [as the prior administration],” Matt said.
