Litigation and Investigations
Gibson Dunn is home to Orange County’s largest group of litigators of any AmLaw 100 firms within the county. Our trial and appellate lawyers have extensive experience handling all types of business and class action litigation in local courts and across the United States, including commercial, intellectual property, antitrust, securities, and environmental matters. Our litigators are also adept at managing arbitrations, mediations, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings. They are deeply embedded in the local legal community and are skilled at effectively litigating our clients’ most critical matters.

Labor and Employment
Our labor and employment litigators represent some of the world’s largest employers in a wide array of disputes. We have an exemplary track record representing major names in technology, retail, transportation, and the “gig economy,” among others, in navigating the most challenging litigation matters. Our team handles a variety of labor and employment issues, including representing employers in wage and hour and discrimination class and representative actions, as well as retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and whistleblower claims, administrative proceedings, and arbitrations. Our litigators have extensive experience with the Fair Labor Standards Act, California Labor Code, and California’s Private Attorneys General Act, achieving significant wins in complex actions across the nation at the trial and appellate levels.

Transactional Matters
The team in Orange County also has wide-ranging expertise in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, spin offs, take-private transactions, public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, and other transactions. Our transactional lawyers routinely advise on complex U.S. and cross-border matters representing public and private buyers and sellers, as well as investment banks, in all aspects of M&A transactions, both negotiated and hostile.

Real Estate
Our transactional real estate team represents clients throughout the nation in sophisticated matters in all areas of real estate, including, acquisition, financing, joint ventures, development, asset ownership, management, leasing, financial workouts, and restructurings.  Our extensive capabilities involving land use and real property development draw on our experience assisting clients with highly complex, large-scale development projects.

Securities Regulation and Corporate Governance
Our securities regulation and corporate governance team helps companies navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, stock exchange listing standards, corporate governance best practices, and institutional investor and proxy advisor policies. Our lawyers routinely assist clients with financial reporting obligations, SEC investigations, corporate compliance programs, governance policies and organizational documents, board oversight issues, shareholder engagement, annual meeting matters, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosure issues.
