Gibson Dunn has announced that Simon Tysoe has joined the firm as a partner in its Mergers and Acquisitions, Energy and Infrastructure, and Oil and Gas Practice Groups in London. Simon brings more than two decades of experience advising on complex cross-border transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

“We are delighted to welcome Simon to Gibson Dunn,” said Rob Carr, Co-Partner in Charge of the London office. “He is a highly respected figure in the global energy M&A space, and his deep industry knowledge makes him an exceptional addition to our team as we further advance our capabilities across the energy and infrastructure markets.”

“Simon’s arrival marks a significant step in the continued growth of our global Projects and Infrastructure Practice,” said Federico Fruhbeck, Co-Chair of the Projects and Infrastructure Practice Group. “His experience advising both strategic investors and financial sponsors on transformative transactions, combined with his strong relationships across multiple jurisdictions, will be invaluable to our clients navigating the evolving energy landscape.”

Simon’s addition builds on Gibson Dunn’s strategic expansion in the energy and infrastructure space, particularly in London and across EMEA. The firm bolstered its London energy capabilities with the additions of partners Ben Shorten and Trinh Chubbock who joined the firm in July 2023, positioning the practice to meet growing client demand in energy transition, renewables, and private capital transactions. Gibson Dunn continues to advise on many of the most significant and innovative deals in these sectors globally.

“I am excited to join Gibson Dunn and contribute to the continued success of its market-leading energy and infrastructure platform,” said Simon Tysoe. “The firm has built outstanding momentum in the energy and infrastructure space in the US and is experiencing rapid growth in the UK, Europe, Middle East and beyond. I look forward to working with such a successful and ambitious team to deliver outstanding results for our clients.”
