UK Afghan Pro Bono Initiative Wins LexisNexis Legal Award

Gibson Dunn is proud to be a founding member of the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative (APBI), winner of the Pro Bono Award at the 2026 LexisNexis Legal Awards. The Afghan Pro Bono Initiative was created following the Taliban’s seizure of power to address the urgent need for Afghans to access legal information, advice, and representation concerning safe routes to the United Kingdom. Since 2022, APBI has helped dozens of Afghan refugees reunite with family in the United Kingdom and provided hundreds of Afghans access to vital advice and support regarding resettling in the United Kingdom.
The LexisNexis Legal Awards s celebrate “excellence, innovation, and impact across the legal profession” and honor winners “whose achievements highlight the exceptional talent, dedication, and forward-thinking shaping today’s legal landscape.”
The awards were presented on April 17.
