Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's Paris office advises on French legal issues and helps clients become familiar with the French business community and ways of doing business in the country.  The office advises on all aspects of business law, such as corporate transactions, restructuring/insolvency, litigation, compliance, public law and regulatory, as well as tax and real estate.

Gibson Dunn's Paris office was opened in 1967 as the firm's first expansion beyond the United States.  Our dynamic team of dual- and triple-qualified lawyers is distinctively positioned to advise clients considering activities in France.  Our long-term European presence gives us deep experience in representing international client business interests that require a coordinated cross-border response.

Gibson Dunn's Paris office focuses on all aspects of complex corporate transactions, including joint ventures, asset and investment management, public offerings and financing.  We represent multinational clients in domestic and cross-border, public and private transactions, including distressed company acquisitions.  Our restructuring team has participated in some of the most complex proceedings and transactions of recent years, some of which dramatically changed the face of French insolvency proceedings.  We have wide cross-jurisdictional expertise and work seamlessly with our other offices and practices to identify and realize clients' objectives.

Our tax team advises on structuring French and international transactions.  We provide counsel on complex tax controversy matters and have an in-depth tax ruling practice.  Team members have significant experience in French real estate and hotel investment, with particular capabilities in the French equivalent of the real estate investment trust (REIT).  Other real estate-related capabilities include due diligence, leasing, urban planning and tax structuring.  Our lawyers also represent corporations in developing and negotiating executive and employment agreements and in the management of their contractual and labor law issues.

Gibson Dunn is known worldwide as a litigation powerhouse.  As part of that team, the Paris office works with clients to strategically manage disputes and arbitration, providing representation before a wide range of French regulators, administrative bodies, courts and arbitral tribunals.  Our public law practice advises on privatizations, public-private partnerships, regulatory law and complex transactions.  We have deep capabilities representing and assisting the French state, governmental bodies and state-owned and private entities in development, regulatory, administrative and arbitration matters.
