Duniatex Group’s $2.6B Debt Restructuring Named ALB Indonesia Deal of the Year 2021

Asian Legal Business has named Duniatex Group’s $2.6B Debt Restructuring as the Debt Market Deal of the Year (Premium) at the ALB Indonesia Law Awards 2021. Gibson Dunn, led by Singapore partners Jamie Thomas and Troy Doyle, advised Duniatex Group on the deal. The awards were presented on October 7, 2021.

Jamie Thomas is Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Finance Practice Group. His experience spans a range of markets including South and Southeast Asia. He regularly represents sponsors, borrowers and lenders on complex cross-border leveraged and acquisition finance transactions, as well as project finance, debt buy-backs, asset-backed lending, receivables financing, and pre-IPO financings.

Troy Doyle is head of the firm’s Business Restructuring and Reorganization Practice in Asia. He frequently advises corporate clients as they undertake a restructuring process. This process often involves challenging stakeholder negotiations, raising new debt and equity (including debtor-in-possession financing), distressed investment and divestment, and implementing a consensual or court approved restructuring plan.
