Gibson Dunn has deepened its market leading global Business Restructuring and Reorganization (BRR) practice with the addition of partner Suzanne Thomson in its London office.
“Suzanne is a highly experienced cross-border restructuring lawyer who adds scale and breadth to our London offering,” said Scott Greenberg, Global Chair of Gibson Dunn’s Business Restructuring and Reorganization Practice Group. “She is another important piece of our continuing European expansion and follows our recent hires of Leo Plank and Sacha Lürken in Munich.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Suzanne, whose experience complements our practice and client base perfectly,” said Lisa Stevens, London partner in Gibson Dunn’s BRR practice. “Her addition to our London team is timely given the uptick in demand for our services and the current macro-economic environment. Suzanne’s experience, market insight, and relationships will help us continue to support clients on their most important matters.”
Gibson Dunn’s BRR practice is widely recognized as a market leading restructuring platform, advising on many of the most significant mandates globally. The London team has advised on several of the most significant U.K. and cross-border matters in recent years, including the restructuring of Altice SFR, Altice International, Kloeckner Pentaplast, Ardagh Group, Arxada, Oriflame, and Lycra.
The team works collaboratively across offices and is diversified, covering debtor work, creditor-side restructurings, liability management, private credit, direct lending, and litigation restructuring disputes. In Europe, the practice combines its growing London and Munich teams with the firm’s preeminent Paris restructuring practice, a longstanding leader in the French market.
“Gibson Dunn has built an internationally renowned, globally integrated restructuring platform,” said Suzanne. “I am excited to be joining a team with such depth and a clear trajectory of growth in London and across Europe. Clients are looking for seamless, cross-practice advice across jurisdictions. Gibson Dunn is uniquely positioned to meet that demand, and I look forward to contributing to the continued expansion of the platform.”
Thomson’s arrival follows continued investment by the firm in its global restructuring capability. In recent years, the firm has added partners Lisa Stevens, Chris Howard, and Presley Warner in London and has continued to deepen its bench across key markets. In addition to Leo Plank and Sacha Lürken in Munich, Matthew Roose has joined the team in New York.
