Partner Jane Horvath, Co-Chair of both our Tech and Innovation Industry Group and our Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Innovation Practice Group, took part in a WSJ Tech Live event in Qatar discussing online privacy in the age of AI.
“People need to exercise caution and understand that this AI thing is a machine, it stores your data, and you need to be cautious when you are interacting with it,” Jane said.
She also said companies need to be aware of existing laws and regulators when considering AI.
“I think a lot of people think right now, at least in the U.S., there is no AI law,” Jane said. “The EU has passed an AI law, but there are existing laws out there right now that control, [and] there are regulators that are very anxious to enforce those laws.”
