Based in New York, the Catering Assistant is an integral part of the client and guest experience.  This position is responsible for creating a professional and comfortable atmosphere in conference rooms, pantries and office café spaces.

This role reports to the Catering Supervisor.

**The work hours for this role are Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining conference room, pantries, office café spaces, and catering department kitchen area.
  • Assisting with managing food orders for client and internal meetings in conference rooms and office café spaces.
  • Set-up and breakdown of conference rooms, pantries and office café spaces.
  • Food presentation and service for in-house and client events.
  • Utilizing a high level of attention to detail as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Clearing conference rooms following each use and ensuring they are properly cleaned and sanitized. Wipe down conference room tables, credenzas and/or other food set-up areas and check chairs for any debris.
  • Promptly attending to and anticipating the needs of the client/guests.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensuring that all necessary health & safety checks are maintained.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks, bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and strong sense of urgency when resolving any issues that arise.
  • Ability to prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in the food services or hospitality industry (i.e. catering, restaurants, hotels, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $50,000 – $60,000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
