Based in Orange County, the Assistant Manager, Recruiting will be responsible for playing a critical role for the office and for the firm in supporting attorney talent acquisition. The focus of this position will be student recruiting at law schools, the Summer Program, judicial clerk, and lateral attorney recruiting.
The Recruiting Manager will coordinate the Orange County office’s legal recruitment efforts and offer office events and professional development support. They will also contribute to firmwide recruiting operations by serving on department subcommittees and working groups, and potentially by assuming coordination of firmwide lateral hiring for assigned practice groups.
This role reports to the firmwide Chief Recruiting Officer and work closely with the Orange County Hiring Partner, Partner-in-Charge, and Hiring Committee, as well as the Orange County Director of Administration, and attorneys on the various other committees.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and managing the office’s overall recruitment efforts, including summer, new, and lateral associate recruiting.
- Playing an integral role in the Orange County office’s recruitment leadership and team.
- Overseeing and driving summer program planning (including budget, calendar of events) and collaborating with summer coordinators and hiring partner on execution, attending events.
- Reviewing and selecting summer, new, and lateral candidates’ applications for consideration by Hiring Committee.
- Arranging and coordinating the logistics for Orange County office student hiring and firmwide student recruiting outreach for assigned, local schools.
- Directing all aspects of candidate visits and screening and callback interviews.
- Coordinating offer process and organize outreach and follow-up dinners and other events for lateral recruits and candidates from the office’s assigned schools.
- Planning and facilitating annual academic events and activities, including diversity-focused events and events planned in conjunction with student groups, for the office’s assigned schools.
- Working with legal search firms and agencies on lateral associate hiring.
- Preparing and tracking annual departmental budget and maintaining proper recruiting records.
- Providing support for Associates Committee, Diversity Committee, Womens’ Committee, and Professional Development events.
- Providing support for local office events, including client development or alumni events.
- Supporting our nationwide lateral associate hiring process, potentially by coordinating national searches for targeted practice groups, engaging with practice group decisionmakers around practice-specific strategy, and sourcing/processing candidates at all levels for those groups.
Qualifications

- Must exhibit good judgment.
- Have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and executive functioning skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
Experience
- A four-year college degree is required.
- A minimum of four years of recruiting experience.
- Experience in a law firm is preferred, as is experience with events.
- Experience with an applicant tracking or human resources software preferred
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is a must.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $140-165k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
