Lateral Associate – Asset Management (NY)

Job Summary

We are seeking mid-level to senior associates in law school class years 2018 to 2022 to join our M&A, Private Equity and Investment Funds teams, with a focus on asset manager M&A, GP stakes, seed investments and similar transactions. Associates will be expected to advise asset managers, sponsors, GP stakes funds and institutional investors in connection with acquisitions and dispositions of asset management businesses, minority and GP stakes investments, seed and revenue-share arrangements, strategic partnerships, joint ventures and other similar transactions, as well as general corporate matters. Candidates must have significant experience handling M&A transactions, a good understanding of corporate law and market terms and substantial experience in drafting transaction documents and effective deal management. Prior experience with asset manager M&A and GP stakes transactions are a plus but not required; candidates with a strong M&A and/or private equity background who are interested in retooling toward this space are encouraged to apply. Driven personality, business development-oriented mindset, and ability to take on a high level of responsibility and work with autonomy are key. The role is expected to have significant direct client contact and will offer a great opportunity for entrepreneurial associates to develop relationships with clients and manage matters with a high degree of independence.

The annual compensation range for this position is between $310,000 and $435,000. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
