BIOGRAPHY

Benjamin K. Belair is a litigation associate in the Washington D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.  He primarily practices in the firm’s White Collar Defense, Securities Enforcement, Congressional Investigations, and International Trade groups.

Mr. Belair’s experience includes representing both corporate and individual clients in government investigations involving the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory and enforcement agencies.  He has helped defend clients against a wide range of allegations, including environmental fraud, securities and accounting fraud, export controls and economic sanctions violations, and violations of computer hacking laws.  In addition, Mr. Belair has represented clients in investigations before multiple U.S. congressional committees, assisting those clients in preparing for committee hearings and responding to requests for information.

Mr. Belair also has experience in counseling clients on compliance with U.S. economic sanctions, export controls, and other international trade regulations.

Mr. Belair received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2016, where he served on the Managing Board for the Journal of Social Policy & the Law.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Washington and Lee University in 2011.

Mr. Belair is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
