Vera Lukic is a partner in the Paris office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she serves as a member of the Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Innovation Practice Group. She is also a member of the Strategic Sourcing and Commercial Contracts Practice Group. She focuses on information technology, digital transactions, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
Vera has developed an extensive expertise in a broad range of technology and digital matters, including in relation to complex technology transactions (e.g., outsourcing projects), contractual disputes (e.g., licensing compliance issues), data privacy and GDPR compliance programs, cybersecurity, and various other digital-related projects (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, NFT, Metaverse, Big Data, Cloud-based solutions, Internet of Things, e-commerce or IaaS/PaaS). She assists clients across jurisdictions and a wide array of sectors.
She also regularly advises on IT and data privacy aspects of M&A deals, including carve-out and transition issues.
Chambers & Partners Europe 2022 and 2023 has ranked Vera in its TMT: Information Technology category, with a clients’ feedback highlighting that she is “brilliant and very pleasant”, “thorough in her explanations”, and “able to provide responses in a way that make sense to those of us who are not experts in the subject matter”.
Legal 500 EMEA has also distinguished Vera among the French market’s “Rising Stars” from 2021 to 2023 in its IT and Internet category. Best Lawyers in France has named her its Lawyer of the Year 2022 for Technology Law and its Lawyer of the Year 2024 for Outsourcing, and has consistently recommended her for Information Technology Law, Privacy and Data Security Law since she entered the ranking in 2020.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn in 2017, Vera had over 10 years’ experience working for leading law firms.
Admitted to the Paris bar since 2007, she graduated from Paris XI University in 2004 with a Post Graduate Degree (DESS) in IT law, and in 2003 with a Graduate Degree in Business Law.
She speaks English fluently.
