Sofia is an associate in the Palo Alto office of Gibson Dunn. She practices in the firm’s Litigation Department and is a member of the firm’s Securities Litigation Group.
Sofia's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts, with an emphasis on securities class actions, shareholder actions alleging breaches of fiduciary duties, and government enforcement matters. She also represents companies, boards and special committees in internal and government investigations involving allegations of corporate fraud and misconduct and issues relating to financial reporting and internal controls. In addition, Sofia has experience handling a wide range of other high stakes disputes involving issues such as breach of contract, fraud, and mass torts.
Sofia's clients have included companies, board committees and individuals in various industries, including technology, venture capital, healthcare, pharma, banking, and energy. Sofia has successfully represented companies at all stages of their lifecycle, from defending established and newly public companies against Exchange Act and Securities Act claims, to representing startups and their boards and founders in business disputes and investigations.
Sofia graduated from Columbia Law School in 2018 and was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She received her Bachelor of Law with First Class Honours from the University of Edinburgh in 2014.
Sofia is admitted to practice law in the states of New York and California, and before the United States District Courts for the Central and Northern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
