Sydney Sherman is an associate in the Orange County office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she currently practices in the firm’s Litigation Department. She is a member of the Firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations, International Arbitration, International Trade, Latin America, and Litigation Practice Groups.
Ms. Sherman regularly represents financial institutions, multinational corporations, and individuals in criminal and civil investigations, as well as internal investigations, with a focus on anti-corruption and compliance issues. Her practice involves advising clients on mitigating compliance risks and responding to investigation by regulators. In the course of her practice, Ms. Sherman routinely works with in-house and outside legal and compliance teams to review and produce documents, conduct witness interviews, and prepare presentations both internally and before government officials. She frequently advises clients on anti-corruption risks and how to implement effective compliance controls, procedures, and training programs. She also has experience advising clients on anti-corruption, risk mitigation, and compliance issues in cross-border M&A transactions.
Ms. Sherman is a fluent Spanish speaker. In addition to working on white collar investigations involving Latin America, she also has experience representing multinational companies with investments in Latin America in international arbitration proceedings.
Ms. Sherman received her Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law, where she specialized in International & Comparative Law. Prior to law school, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from McGill University.
Ms. Sherman is admitted to practice law in the State of California.
