The AmLaw Litigation Daily

First up this week is a Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher team led by Barry Berke, Jordan Estes and Daniel Ketani. They represent Amazon in a lawsuit brought by Gilimex, who sued for treble damages of $840 million under Massachusetts law after Amazon terminated its supplier relationship with the Vietnamese manufacturer. But last week, U.S. District Senior Judge Lorna Schofield in Manhattan found that Gilimex “committed fraud on the court” by fabricating documents in support of its damages demand of $68 million for raw materials. The judge issued terminating sanctions and put Gilimex on the hook for Amazon’s attorney fees related to exposing the fraud. The Gibson Dunn team includes partners Russell Balikian, Grace Hart and Andrew LeGrand, of counsel Mike Lyons and associates Morgan Carter, Ingrid Cherry, Andrew Ebrahem, Sara Greaves, Cody Johnson, Maya Konstantino, Nina Meyer, Kasturi Mitra, Katie Salvaggio and Kevin Simmons.
