Who’s Who Legal recognized three Gibson Dunn Partners in its 2023 Hospitality guide. London partner Alan Samson, Los Angeles partner Lauren Giovannone and New York partner Andrew Lance and were all recommended. The guide was published in August 2023.
Lauren Giovannone represents real estate development companies, financial institutions, investors, and commercial lessors and tenants in all aspects of the acquisition, development and finance of hotels and resorts, condo-hotels, branded residential projects, theme and water parks, and large mixed-use projects. She regularly negotiates management, franchise, licensing and branding agreements; restaurant leases and management agreements; preopening, technical service and PIP agreements; marketing and sales agreements; subordination and non-disturbance agreements; executive compensation and consulting agreements; and celebrity chef joint venture and management agreements.
Andrew Lance heads the Gibson Dunn Real Estate Practice Group’s Hotel and Hospitality Practice. His practice includes acquisitions, sales, leasing and financing of office, retail, hotel, industrial, recreational, professional sports and entertainment real estate, origination of mortgage and mezzanine loans and construction loans, real estate joint ventures and other ownership structures, master leases, sale-leasebacks and ground leases, and private and public-private ground leased and fee-owned development projects.
Alan Samson Co-Chairs the firm’s Real Estate group and heads the European real estate private equity team. He has more than 30 years’ experience in all aspects of commercial real estate and real estate finance. His practice focuses heavily on the acquisition of real estate loan portfolios (whole loans, senior and/or junior notes and structured pieces) from financial institutions, distressed/vulture fund formation, recapitalisations, mezzanine loan origination and debt restructurings and workouts.
