The American Lawyer magazine featured New York partner Lois Herzeca as one of its Dealmakers of the Year 2012, which profiled 12 lawyers “who played critical roles in last year’s most notable transactions.” Herzeca was recognized for helping Transatlantic Holdings, the target of five companies, “assess its offers, terminate a friendly deal, combat a hostile one, and ultimately secure a $3.4 billion deal with Alleghany Corporation, all while initiating a novel buyback plan that allowed Transatlantic to return capital to its stockholders.” The article was published in the April 2012 issue.
