Employment Partner Catherine Conway Joins Gibson Dunn’s Los Angeles Office

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that employment partner Catherine Conway has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office.  Previously at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, Conway will continue to focus on employment law, particularly wage and hour class actions.

About Catherine Conway

Conway focuses her law practice on complex employment class actions, especially wage and hour litigation.  She also has extensive experience in other employment law issues, including discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, unfair competition, trade secrets and unfair business practice litigation.  She advises employers in a broad range of industries, including retail, Internet, manufacturing, banking and financial institutions, hospitality and the oil industry.  Her clients have included Starbucks, ConocoPhillips, Ernst & Young and Michaels Stores.

Conway was a partner at Akin Gump since 2000, and before that she practiced with Manatt, Phelps & Phillips.  She has been recognized as a leading employment lawyer by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in 2009-2011, named one of the “Top 10 Employment Defense Lawyers” in California by the Daily Journal in 2009-2011 and received a California Lawyer of the Year award from California Lawyer magazine in the employment law category in 2010.  She graduated from Indiana University School of Law in 1978.
