Assistant U.S. Attorney Joins Gibson Dunn in Los Angeles

October 27, 2015

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Michael Dore has rejoined Gibson Dunn after serving five years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. Dore joins the firm’s Los Angeles office as of counsel.

While a federal prosecutor, Dore tried nine federal jury trials and argued five Ninth Circuit appeals, with two published wins affirming the district court. A member of the Violent and Organized Crime section, Dore represented the United States in a trial that resulted in RICO convictions of two Mexican Mafia members who also led a violent gang linked to murders, attempts to kill law enforcement, and a mass stabbing at a Southern California restaurant. Another of Dore’s trials resulted in money laundering and other convictions for a leader of an organized crime syndicate. He also investigated and successfully prosecuted numerous individuals and organizations for fraud crimes, including the conviction of more than 10 members of a multi-million-dollar nationwide bank fraud conspiracy.

“We are pleased to welcome Mike home to Gibson Dunn,” said Christopher Chorba, Co-Partner in Charge of the Los Angeles offices. “He is an experienced civil litigator who will also enhance our deep bench of former federal prosecutors and trial attorneys.”

Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s office in 2010, Dore was a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson Dunn. He worked on a variety of matters with a focus on securities, media and entertainment, antitrust, and appellate law. He joined the firm in 2003 after graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law.
