Gibson Dunn Client American Red Cross Transforms Governance Structure

November 2, 2006

The Board of Governors of Gibson Dunn client American Red Cross unanimously approved a series of recommendations for transformational changes in an effort to modernize its 60-year-old governance structure. Earlier this year, the Board charged its Governance Committee to conduct a thorough self-examination and comprehensive review of its governance practices. In connection with its review, the American Red Cross has published "Governance for the 21st Century," a definitive review of non-profit corporate governance.

Gibson Dunn partners John Olson, Amy Goodman and Stephanie Tsacoumis served as counsel to the Independent Governance Advisory Panel and the Governance Committee of the American Red Cross Board.
