Gibson Dunn Adds Real Estate M&A Partner Jeremy Kenley and Tax Partner Sandy Bhogal to London Office

​Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Jeremy Kenley and Sandy Bhogal will join the firm’s London office as partners.  At Gibson Dunn, Kenley will continue his real estate private equity practice, and Bhogal will continue his corporate tax practice.  Both will join the firm from Mayer Brown International.

About Sandy Bhogal

Previously the head of Mayer Brown’s Tax group in London, Bhogal focuses on corporate tax, particularly tax matters related to UK tax, which can involve transaction mandates controversies with tax authorities and discrete tax consulting matters.  He also provides transactional advice on matters involving M&A, corporate finance, banking, capital markets, asset finance and property.  He has extensive experience in corporate tax planning and the development of domestic and cross-border tax-efficient structures.

Prior to joining the firm, he practiced with Mayer Brown International from 2005 to 2017.  Before that, he was associated with Ernst & Young in London and practiced at Norton Rose.

He is a member of the Law Society Tax Committee, serving as chair of the Law Society Sub-Committee of International Taxes, and a member of the Alternative Investment Association Tax Committee.  He received LL.B. and LL.M. degrees in law in 1996 and 1998 from the University of Bristol.

About Jeremy Kenley

Kenley, formerly the co-head of Mayer Brown’s global Corporate & Securities practice and head of the Private Equity Real Estate group, focuses his practice on transactions where the underlying asset is real estate, including cross-border M&A and joint ventures.  He has particular experience in all aspects of real estate private equity, including the formation of real estate private equity and debt funds, related real estate and debt acquisitions, and co-investment deals and structures.

Previously, he practiced with Mayer Brown International in London since 2012.  Before that, he served as Global General Counsel for Real Estate for a leading global private equity investment manager from 2010 to 2012 and as European General Counsel for Citi Property Investors from 2005 to 2010.  He spent the first 10 years of his legal career at Allen & Overy.  Kenley received an LL.B. from Manchester University in 1993.
