Best Lawyers in the United Kingdom 2018 has recognized nine partners as leading lawyers in their respective practice areas: Cyrus Benson — International Arbitration; Tom Budd — Real Estate Finance; James Cox — Employment Law; Charlie Geffen — Private Equity Law; Stephen Gillespie —Banking & Finance Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law and Private Equity Law; Wayne McArdle — Private Equity Law; Philip Rocher — Litigation; Alan Samson — Financial Services, Real Estate Finance and Real Estate Law; and Steve Thierbach – Capital Markets Law. Additionally, Best Lawyers named Charlie Geffen "Lawyer of the Year" 2018 in London Private Equity Law based upon high ratings in Best Lawyers’ survey of peers. Only one lawyer in each legal community is selected as the Lawyer of the Year for each practice area. The UK list was announced on March 28, 2017.
