Corporate Partner Ryan Murr Joins Gibson Dunn in San Francisco

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Ryan Murr is joining the firm as a partner.  Previously a corporate partner in Ropes & Gray’s San Francisco office, he will serve as co-chair of Gibson Dunn’s Life Sciences Practice Group and will continue to represent technology and life sciences companies, as well as investors in these industries, on their corporate law matters.

About Ryan Murr

Murr has a broad corporate and securities practice, representing leading public and private companies, investors and underwriters in the biotechnology, technology and medical device industries in connection with securities offerings and business combinations transactions.  In addition, Murr regularly serves as principal outside counsel for publicly traded companies and private venture-backed companies, advising management teams and boards of directors on corporate law matters, SEC reporting, corporate governance and mergers & acquisitions.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Murr was the managing partner of Ropes & Gray’s San Francisco office, where he practiced since 2011.  He also previously practiced with Goodwin Procter and Heller Ehrman and was an associate at Gibson Dunn’s Orange County office from 1998 to 2000. 

He graduated magna cum laude in 1998 from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he was Order of the Coif and lead articles editor of San Diego Law Review.
