The Am Law Litigation Daily named Washington, D.C. partner Eugene Scalia as its Litigator of the Week [PDF] in connection with his win on behalf of MetLife Inc. Together with Gibson Dunn partner Amir Tayrani, Scalia led a Gibson Dunn team that filed a lawsuit challenging the designation of MetLife as a systematically important financial institution by the Financial Stability Oversight Council. On March 30, 2016, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that the Financial Stability Oversight Council’s designation was arbitrary and capricious and must be rescinded.
