Five Gibson Dunn Cases Named Top Verdicts of the Year

​The Daily Journal recognized five Gibson Dunn cases in its annual feature on top verdicts in California for 2016.  Hewlett-Packard Co. v. Oracle Corp. [PDF], where the Gibson Dunn team earned a $3 billion verdict for Hewlett-Packard, the highest verdict in California for the year, was recognized as one of the 10 cases featured in the Top Plaintiffs’ Verdict by Dollar list.  Aetna Life Insurance Co. v. Bay Area Surgical Management LLC [PDF], in which the firm succeeded in arguing that a group of San Francisco surgery centers overcharged through a sophisticated scheme of insurance fraud, was named among the 10 cases featured in the Top Plaintiffs’ Verdict by Impact list. Lincoln Studios LLC v. DLA [PDF], in which Gibson Dunn proved key documents were forged in this contractual dispute involving nine residential properties, was recognized as one of 20 cases in the Top Defense Results list.  In re: Arrowhead Research Corporation Securities Litigation [PDF], where the Gibson Dunn team succeeded in convincing the court that complex scientific terminology had been accurate and not misleading, was also recognized in the Top Defense Results List.  Rostack Investments Inc. v. Sabella [PDF], in which Gibson Dunn obtained reversal of a trial court’s decision to award a summary judgment and awards worth nearly $70 million, was selected as one of 5 cases in the Top Appellate Reversals list.  The feature was published in the February 15, 2017 issue.
