The Daily Journal recognized four Gibson Dunn cases in its annual feature on Top Verdicts in California for 2015. Depomed Inc. v. Horizon Pharma PLC, in which Gibson Dunn obtained a rare preliminary injunction in Horizon’s hostile takeover bid of Depomed, was recognized as one of the seven cases featured in the Top Plaintiffs’ Verdict by Impact list. Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority et al. v. Parsons-Dillingham Metro Rail Construction Manager Joint Venture et al., in which the firm secured summary judgment in favor of Parsons-Dillingham in a two-decade-long False Claims Act case, was named among the 18 cases on the Top Defense Results list. The publication also named In re Herbalife Ltd. Securities Litigation among its Top Defense Results. In this case, Gibson Dunn successfully obtained dismissal of all securities fraud claims against Herbalife for the third and final time. Soto v. BorgWarner Morse TEC Inc., in which Gibson Dunn obtained a reversal of what would have been one of the largest punitive damage awards in California history, was featured as one of the five cases on the Top Appellate Reversals list.
