Gibson Dunn Adds PCAOB Enforcement Attorney in Washington, D.C.

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that David C. Ware has joined the firm as of counsel in the Washington, D.C. office.  His practice focuses on government investigations and enforcement actions, internal investigations, and litigation in the areas of auditing and accounting, securities fraud, and foreign corruption.  He also counsels clients concerning compliance with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) rules and standards.

Ware was most recently Associate Director of the Division of Enforcement and Investigations of the PCAOB.  Ware served at the PCAOB from 2012 until 2018, and handled numerous complex and high-profile matters, including serving as lead counsel in some of the PCAOB’s most significant enforcement actions.

Prior to joining the PCAOB, Ware was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of another prominent international law firm, focusing on government investigations, internal investigations, and private litigation concerning securities, accounting, and FCPA issues.

From 2002 through 2003, he served as a law clerk for Judge Robert J. Cordy of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.  Ware graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2002.
