Gibson Dunn Partner Jennifer Rearden Confirmed by U.S. Senate as U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that partner Jennifer H. Rearden has been confirmed to serve as United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York.  With the support of Senator Gillibrand and Majority Leader Schumer, Rearden was originally nominated by President Donald Trump in February 2020 and re-nominated by President Joe Biden in January 2022.  After receiving a unanimous vote from the Senate Judiciary Committee, Rearden was confirmed by unanimous consent of the U.S. Senate on September 8, 2022.

About Jennifer Rearden

Rearden is a member of Gibson Dunn’s Litigation and Crisis Management Practice Groups.  She has litigated complex commercial cases before federal and state courts and administrative bodies throughout the country.

Rearden received her law degree from New York University School of Law, where she was a member of the Journal of International Law and Politics.  She graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in history.  Rearden previously served on the Council of the Yale Club of New York City, the Board of Directors of the New York University Law Alumni Association, and the Boards of Trustees of Copland House and of Inwood House at the Children’s Village.
