Global Arbitration Review listed Gibson Dunn in the ninth edition of GAR 100, its annual guide to the international arbitration capabilities of law firms. Among the firm’s key representations and successes for an array of clients, GAR noted International Arbitration Practice Co-Chair Cyrus Benson‘s representation of Yukos Oil Company in fending off a US$250 million ICC claim brought against it by Poland’s PKN Orlen over the sale of a Lithuanian refinery. He is recognized for “his ability to quickly translate complex legal discussion into easily understandable and compelling reasoning.” Fellow Co-Chair Penny Madden was highlighted for assisting Orascom in reaching a US$4 billion deal with Algeria over ownership of mobile operator Djezzy, suspending a US$16 billion investment treaty claim. The firm’s profile was published February 18, 2016.
