Based in New York (preferred), Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, or Orange County, the Professional Development Specialist will be responsible for collaborating on partner development and coaching initiatives. This individual will possess exceptional project management, communication, organizational, time management, and technological skills; strong judgment and diplomacy; and great initiative, with the ability to work flexibly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

This role reports to the Associate Director, Coaching & Development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading project management for comprehensive new partner development program that involves significant collaboration across Firm departments and integrates training programs, executive coaching sessions, practice-based cohort meetings, practice planning sessions, and office-based social gatherings.
  • Organizing and overseeing logistics for partner development events and meetings.
  • Creating engaging and informative materials for partner development and coaching programs, including PowerPoint presentations, resource guides, and overview documents.
  • Innovating methods for tracking, analyzing, and reporting quantitative and qualitative data related to partner development and coaching programs.
  • ​Communicating directly with partners, associates, and other stakeholders regarding partner development and coaching initiatives.
  • Developing, leading, and/or assisting with other Professional Development team initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills paired with a positive, welcoming, and service-oriented attitude.
  • Integrity to handle sensitive and highly confidential information with utmost care.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail, problem solving, and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills. Must be able to tailor written work product to the appropriate audience.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff and attorneys at all levels of the Firm.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness, creativity, and self-directed behavior.
  • Established project management, program design, and event planning experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to make continued progress on long-term projects.

Experience

  • Four-year college degree required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional work experience is preferred.
  • Must meet minimum testing requirements.
  • Strong skills in MS Word and PowerPoint.  Demonstrated proficiency in Excel.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $95-105k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
