Senior Systems Engineer

Based in Singapore, the Senior System Engineer will support the firm in all areas related to infrastructure in a  fast-paced, dynamic environment using leading-edge technologies based on Microsoft, VMWARE, NetApp, Cisco, and Intel technologies.

This role reports to the IS Operations Infrastructure Manager, and provides opportunities to work from home/remotely within a reasonable travel distance to the firm’s Singapore office and datacenter, allowing for on-premise office work when necessary.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor system performance and capacity of infrastructure-related technologies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with existing systems to identify and resolve problems.
• Designing, building, testing, and deploying new computer systems based on firm standards in our offices and datacenter locations.
• Maintaining and updating existing computer networks and adding new features as needed.
• Recommending new technologies that could improve efficiency or productivity within the organization.
• Coordinating with others for projects or maintenance involving multiple departments within the organization.
• Work closely with IS and others to understand their business needs and goals, and translate them into technical requirements when necessary.
• Coordinating with vendors to purchase new hardware or software products.
• Testing new or revised hardware and software solutions to ensure it performs as expected.
• Maintaining existing technology, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Develop and document processes and procedures to reduce the number of reoccurring system issues.
• Demonstrate commitment to excellence in customer support and have the ability to secure customer cooperation under pressure conditions.
• Adhere to all GIBSON DUNN policies and processes.
• Perform other IS-related duties as assigned.
• Support other non-IS projects and initiatives as needed.
• Ensure the department maintains technical skills in the Microsoft server technology area.
• Provide supporting documentation, reports, and other information to management.
• Participate in a week-long after-hours support escalation coverage rotation.
• Design, document, and Participate in Business Continuity Testing.
• Write technical documentation to help others understand our systems.

• College degree in a related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experiences aligned to Systems architecture and engineering directives
• 5+ years of experience in an engineering role. Able to exhibit a progression of increasingly complex job responsibilities, including project management skills, engineering remediation techniques, and project planning and implementation
• Certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is a positive
• Certification as a Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) Core Infrastructure or Productivity is a positive
