Eric Brooks

Associate Attorney

Eric Brooks is a litigation associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He is a member of the firm’s antitrust, artificial intelligence, and appellate and constitutional law practice groups. Eric helps his clients navigate cutting-edge legal issues and disputes, especially those involving competition and new technologies.

Eric draws on his rich experience in high-stakes government roles. Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Eric clerked for Justice Elena Kagan of the Supreme Court of the United States. Before clerking, he served in the Anticompetitive Practice Division of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition. Prior to his tenure at the FTC, Eric clerked for Judge Jeffrey Meyer of the United States District for the District of Connecticut and Judge Stephanos Bibas of the Third Circuit.

Eric earned his J.D. from Yale Law School. He brings to his cases a sophisticated technical background. He graduated magna cum laude from Yale College with a B.S. in Mathematics. Before law school, he conducted computational genomics research, which has been published in several scientific journals.

Eric is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Second and Third Circuits.
