Melina is an associate in the Munich office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is a member of the firm’s Corporate practice group and the White Collar Defense and Investigations practice group.
Melina focuses on corporate law, corporate governance and compliance matters (including sanctions/international trade compliance and supply chain compliance) as well as internal corporate investigations. She advises companies in connection with the implementation and assessment of compliance management systems and has worked on several matters at the intersection of corporate governance and white collar issues.
Melina studied law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where she passed her first state examination in 2015 and at the Sapienza University of Rome. After her second state examination at the Higher Regional Court of Munich in 2017, she worked on her doctoral thesis at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and at the same time for a renowned German law firm.
During her studies and her clerkship she gathered international working experience at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Vienna, at the EU Delegation to the OECD in Paris and at an NGO tackling corruption in Cape Town.
In 2021 she received her LL.M. degree from Columbia University School of Law in New York as a Fulbright scholar.
In addition to her native German, she speaks English and Italian.
