John Loubriel is a corporate associate in the Dubai office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. He was previously on secondment as a legal advisor in the Finance and Investment Directorate at the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) focusing on capital markets, M&A, and general corporate matters. While on secondment, John successfully negotiated and executed the ADNOC Drilling PJSC, Borouge plc, Fertiglobe plc (“Fertiglobe”) and ADNOC Gas plc initial public offerings on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange with Fertiglobe IPO being the first-ever free zone company listed on an onshore listing exchange in the United Arab Emirates. Further, John successfully negotiated and executed the signing of a share purchase agreement in connection with ADNOC’s acquisition of a 25% stake in Borealis AG from Mubadala Investment Company (“MIC”) and ADNOC’s acquisition of a 24.9% stake in OMV AG from MIC with completion of the transaction being subject to customary regulatory and closing conditions.
Before his secondment, he was a corporate associate in the Houston office a US Law firm focusing on M&A and capital markets transactions. Before this role, John was a corporate associate in the New York and London offices of a US Law firm from 2017 to 2020.
He earned his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science also from Fordham University.
John is a New York and Texas State qualified attorney.
