Prerna Soni is an associate in the San Francisco office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where she is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Group.
Her practice involves a broad range of commercial real estate transactions. She represents private equity funds, REITs, developers, and other real estate investors in connection with acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, preferred equity transactions, construction and permanent financings, and development matters. Prerna also represents institutional lenders in connection with mortgage and mezzanine financings, loan sales, securitizations, intercreditor agreements, and repurchase facilities. She has represented clients in connection with large loan portfolio acquisitions, and also has extensive experience with loan workouts and remedies, including foreclosures, deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure and loan restructuring. Her practice covers a wide variety of asset classes, including office buildings, multifamily complexes, hotels, retail properties, mixed-use properties, and industrial properties.
Prerna was recognized as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America™ 2023-2025 in Real Estate Law.
She received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2014. While in law school, Prerna was the Symposium Editor for the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law and a Board Member of the Penn Law Housing Rights Project. As a law student, she worked in the Detkin Intellectual Property Clinic where she advised entrepreneurs on intellectual property and business development matters. Prerna received a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Law from Binghamton University in 2011.
Prior to joining the firm, Prerna was an associate at Dechert LLP in New York. She is admitted to practice law in New York, California, and Pennsylvania.
