BIOGRAPHY

Prerna Soni is an associate in the San Francisco office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where she is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Group.

Ms. Soni’s practice involves a broad range of commercial real estate transactions.  She represents private equity funds, REITs, developers, and other real estate investors in connection with acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, preferred equity transactions, construction and permanent financings, and leasing matters.  She also represents institutional lenders in connection with mortgage and mezzanine financings, loan sales, securitizations, intercreditor agreements, and repurchase facilities.  Ms. Soni’s practice covers a wide variety of asset classes, including office buildings, multifamily complexes, hotels, retail properties, mixed-use buildings, and industrial properties.

In 2023, Ms. Soni was recognized as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America™ in Real Estate Law.

Ms. Soni received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2014.  While in law school, Ms. Soni was the Symposium Editor for the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law and a Board Member of the Penn Law Housing Rights Project.  As a law student, Ms. Soni worked in the Detkin Intellectual Property Clinic where she advised entrepreneurs on intellectual property and business development matters.  Ms. Soni received a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Law from Binghamton University in 2011.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Soni was an associate at Dechert LLP in New York.  She is admitted to practice law in New York, California, and Pennsylvania.
