Cristina Martinez Squiers is Of Counsel in Gibson Dunn’s Dallas office where she practices in the firm's Litigation Department, and is a member of the Class Actions, Appellate and Constitutional Law, and Labor and Employment practice groups. Cristina has significant trial and appellate experience and represents corporations across various industries, including telecommunications, healthcare, transportation, finance, and manufacturing. She also has extensive experience representing state governments to defend newly enacted statutes. She has argued before the Seventh Circuit in a First Amendment retaliation case and has led briefing efforts in every level of federal court, including the Supreme Court, and in state courts in Texas and Michigan. Her recent successes include securing reversal of a jury verdict in a personal injury case before the Texas Supreme Court, obtaining class certification in a Title VII class action, and winning summary judgment for a major telecommunications company in a high-stakes False Claims Act case. Cristina formerly clerked for the Honorable Don R. Willett of the of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Cristina earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from Southern Methodist University, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the SMU Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Cristina participated as a student attorney in the Criminal Defense and Child Advocacy clinics. She graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and was named a recipient of the University’s ReachOut Fellowship.
Before law school, Cristina worked at a foster care agency in Philadelphia, where she started a mentoring program for youth exiting the foster care system.
Cristina is admitted to practice in the State of Texas and to appear before the Northern District of Texas, Fifth Circuit, Seventh Circuit, Tenth Circuit, and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
