Project Finance International named MidAmerican Energy’s Solar Star Funding as its 2013 Power Deal of the Year – Americas, calling it a “stand-out deal, even among the many unique and innovative renewable transactions done in 2013.” New York partner Peter Hanlon represented MidAmerican in the transaction. According to PFI, “it was the largest single renewable energy project finance bond offering executed in history …. The large benchmark size bond is expected to serve as a future pricing reference point for greenfield project bonds.” The winners were announced on December 30, 2013.
