The Daily Journal recognized two Gibson Dunn cases in its annual feature on top plaintiffs’ and defense verdicts in California. Garamendi v. Artemis, in which a jury returned a complete defense verdict for Gibson Dunn client Artemis S.A. in a long-running insurance fraud action brought by the California Insurance Commissioner more than 13 years ago, was recognized as a Top Defense Verdict of 2012. Hewlett-Packard Co. v. Oracle Corp., where the firm won a complete victory for client Hewlett-Packard on claims of breach of contract and unfair competition tried against Oracle, was named one of the Top Plaintiffs’ Verdicts by Impact of 2012.
