Alexander Southwell Appointed to New York State Bar Association’s Task Force of Autonomous Vehicles and the Law

The New York State Bar Association has appointed New York partner Alexander Southwell to its Task Force of Autonomous Vehicles and the Law.  This “groundbreaking initiative” will “study and understand the seismic impact that autonomous vehicles will have on our legal system and society, and make recommendations on how New York State and its legal institutions can prepare for this revolutionary technological change.”  The task force members were announced on June 3, 2019.

Alex Southwell is Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn’s Privacy, Cybersecurity and Consumer Protection Practice Group.  He focuses on information technology-related investigations, counseling, and litigation.  He counsels a variety of clients on privacy, information technology, data breach, theft of trade secrets and intellectual property, computer fraud, national security, and network and data security issues, including handling investigations, enforcement defense, and litigation.
