Collin Cox Speaks with The Texas Lawbook About Massive Win for Gray Real Estate Companies

In an interview with The Texas Lawbook (subscription required) about the massive $296 million verdict for the Gray real estate development companies recently secured by a team of Gibson Dunn Texas lawyers following a 12-day trial in Arizona, partner Collin Cox described how the team explained the case’s contractual promises to the jury, helping lead to the ultimate result.
Collin also pointed out that many of the lawyers on the winning team were part of the firm’s win in the Greenpeace trial earlier this year, when a North Dakota jury awarded $660 million to Energy Transfer for damages and defamation, and noted that each associate in the Arizona case had a chance to speak in court. “I think that’s all just very important to what we’re trying to do at the firm, and the kind of people we want to stay and give them experience that makes it hard for them to leave,” he said.
In addition to Collin, the Gibson Dunn trial team included partner Sydney Scott and associates Ben Betner, Bryston Gallegos, Johanna Smith, Kylie Calabrese, and Jaime Barrios.
