The Los Angeles Business Journal named Los Angeles partners Jesse Cripps and Katherine Smith among its 2023 Leaders of Influence: Labor & Employment Attorneys, a list of “the very best labor and employment attorneys in region.” The profiles were published on October 23, 2023.
Jesse Cripps has handled the full range of labor and employment matters under both federal and state law, specializing in the defense of high-risk, complex and class action employment litigation. His successes include defeating class and collective action certification, securing the dismissal of class action claims on the pleadings, and securing a variety of merits-based victories at the trial court and appellate levels.
Katherine Smith serves as co-chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. She has extensive experience representing employers in individual, representative and class action litigation at both the trial court and appellate level. Her practice focuses on high stakes litigation matters such as large-scale class actions, actions brought under the California Private Attorney General Act, whistleblower retaliation cases, and executive disputes.
