Based in New York, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, or Los Angeles, the Litigation Business Development Projects and Systems Manager will play a critical role in project management, and enhancing the litigation BD operational infrastructure, optimizing processes and systems, and driving consistency and efficiency across the litigation BD function. This role oversees the creation, implementation, and maintenance of dashboards, workflows, and data standards to support disputes lawyers and litigation BD teams in delivering high-quality, consistent work product, while also implementing and maintaining new technologies and processes to enhance firm competitiveness.
The Litigation Business Development Projects and Systems Manager will work closely with the Senior Director of Litigation Business Development, the litigation BD leadership team, practice management, technology teams, and marketing colleagues to ensure the litigation BD function operates with consistency, accuracy, and that litigation BD platforms within the department are deployed effectively. This role also supervises team members responsible for BD data integrity, tracking systems, analytics, and reporting.
This role reports to the Associate Director of Business Development.
Responsibilities include:
Operations, Infrastructure and Process Optimization:
- Design, implement, and optimize workflows, tools, templates, and systems that support litigation business development operations, including experience management, marketing collateral, pitch systems, and tracking dashboards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop scalable solutions that enhance efficiency and increase the accuracy of BD outputs.
- Standardize processes and best practices for litigation data management, deliverables, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination.
- Explore and implement AI solutions to improve efficiency.
- Oversee the collection, integrity, and accuracy of litigation experience, pitch data, marketing campaign metrics, and other BD materials.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and analytics reports.
- Evaluate tools and technology to improve reporting and operational insights.
- Manage regular and ad hoc litigation BD projects and operational initiatives, ensuring timely completion and consistent quality across all deliverables.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, events, communications, practice management, and finance, to ensure alignment of litigation BD operations with firm goals.
- Support change management initiatives and lead training efforts for new systems, processes, and resources.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage and mentor Litigation Business Development Projects and Systems Specialists and junior team members, overseeing workload, performance, and skill development.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to litigation BD colleagues and lawyers on process, tools, and operational best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of law firm business development operations and systems.
- Exceptional project management and change management skills.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to all levels of personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build consensus with colleagues.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail.
- Must be able to lead by influence, exhibit effective team skills, and lead, inspire, and motivate teams.
- Strong strategic planning and business analytics skills.
- Demonstrated experience in building roadmaps, setting priorities, organization, follow-through, and delegation.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite—proficient with advanced Excel and data manipulation—and experience with InterAction, experience management tools, and data platforms.
- Strong analytical skill set with the ability to design and interpret dashboards.
Experience
- University degree required.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in professional services; legal preferred.
- Experience overseeing BD operations, systems, or analytics functions.
- People-management experience strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $175-185k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
