Based in California, the Litigation Docket Manager will focus on managing the day-to-day operations of the litigation docketing function, with an emphasis on supervising a team of calendaring specialists. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
This role reports to the Director, Managing Attorney’s Offices.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and managing the calendaring process using the firm’s calendaring database (CourtAlert).
- Supervising and providing guidance to a team of calendaring specialists, including workload management, training, and performance oversight.
- Reviewing litigation documents for relevant dates and effectively using the docketing and calendaring system to index court documents and enter applicable dates.
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing and calendaring of incoming court documents.
- Retrieving court documents and maintaining all related databases.
- Monitoring dockets for updates and generating calendar reports.
- Communicating with attorneys and other firm personnel regarding calendaring procedures, deadlines, and research.
- Collaborating with the Managing Attorney’s Office leadership to ensure best practices and consistency across offices.
- Contributing to knowledge management-related initiatives as they pertain to litigation case files, docketing, records management and other similar areas of function within the Litigation department.
- Searching and extracting information from court-related databases, websites and relevant docketing and calendaring applications including PACER, Bloomberg and other similar platforms.
- Collecting, maintaining and updating needed information on attorneys, such as bar admissions and e-filing credentials.
- Complying with department and Firm administrative policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- An understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings.
- Strong level of knowledge of court rules and procedures in California state and federal courts.
- Strong research ability and knowledge of court rules and procedures.
- Able to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel, including attorneys, co-workers, and administrators.
- Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and able to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
- Must possess the ability to work independently, as well as on a team, in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Managing Attorney/Clerk’s Office at a large law firm.
- Experience supervising other members of a Managing Attorney/Clerk’s Office at a large law firm preferred.
- Familiarity with CourtAlert (or other rules-based calendaring software such as CompuLaw, MA3000, et al.) required.
- Experience with firmwide calendaring required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with federal, state and local court systems, including electronic filing systems (i.e. NYSCEF, NexGen, PACER, et al.).
- Experience with Courthouse News and case tracking databases (i.e. Courtlink, CourtAlert, Bloomberg, et al.).

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $140-160k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
