Charles Case

Associate Attorney

Charles Case is an associate in the Abu Dhabi office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, practising in the firm's Finance, and Projects and Infrastructure Practice Groups.

Charles has a broad practice advising major financial institutions, investment funds, private equity sponsors and corporates on a range of finance transactions, including leveraged finance, infrastructure finance, project finance and private credit.

Charles received his undergraduate Russian degree from the University of Bristol with first class honours. He received his graduate diploma in law with distinction and his master of science in law, business and management with distinction from the University of Law.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Charles trained and practised in the London and Dubai offices of a major international law firm. 

Charles is admitted to practice in England and Wales.

  • RedBird IMI on the financing for its £1.15bn acquisition of All3Media, a leading global independent TV and film production, digital, and distribution group headquartered in the UK.
  • Blackrock in connection with the financing for their acquisition of a minority stake in Saudi Bahrain Pipeline Company from Bapco Energies.
  • The lenders in the refinancing of the Al Dur Phase II Independent Water and Power Project in Bahrain.
  • An ad hoc group of term lenders in the negotiation of a potential restructuring, amendment, or financing transaction of debt facilities of a market-leading next-generation global consumer goods company, and certain of its affiliates and subsidiaries.
  • The lenders on the financing for the acquisition of Sanoptis, a leading European provider of ophthalmology services, by Groupe Bruxelles Lambert.
  • The lenders on the refinancing of Constellation Automotive, a leading operator of digital used vehicle marketplaces, for TDR Capital.
  • The lenders on the refinancing of David Lloyd, a leading health and wellness group, for TDR Capital.
  • Investcorp on the financing for its acquisition of Investis Digital, a leading digital corporate communications and marketing company.
  • The lenders on the financing for the acquisition of Rodenstock, a leading manufacturer of premium ophthalmic lenses, by Apax Funds.
  • VTTI, a global leader in independent energy storage, on the establishment of a multi-billion-dollar multi-creditor debt platform, including senior bank facilities, private placement debt and standalone hedging, to refinance existing unsecured bank and private placement debt.
  • Aberdeen Standard Investments, DIF and Local Pensions Partnership on the refinancing of Elenia Lampö Oy, a Finnish district heating company, and the establishment of a multi-creditor debt platform in connection with the refinancing.
  • The funders in connection with establishing a secured debt platform, together with a bank facilities agreement and a note purchase agreement, for Loiste group, a Finnish heat distribution business.
  • Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets on the financing for the acquisition of Farnborough Airport in the United Kingdom.
  • International Finance Corporation and KfW IPEX on the financing of the Açu LNG to Power Project in Brazil.
